Mona Vie

I WOULD NEVER JOIN MONA VIE. Yes, the business is absolutely exploding, and you can make (or lose, see below) money in it, but the product is nothing better than Welch's Grape Juice.
Mona Vie is a Network Marketing company that sells health and wellness products supposedly made from the Acai berry. While this berry is indigenous to the South American countries of Brazil and Peru, where it is known for it’s amazing healing and anti-aging properties, I have yet to see this product do more than what grape juice does. The Acai berry is considered a Super-Fruit, due to its very high level of anti-oxidants and phytonutrients, which help cleanse free radicals from the body, and maintain optimal health. The Acai berry also has amazing weight loss benefits. Why Mona Vie users who were obese when beginning the use of this product to now are still obese means only one thing...The product is a flat out FRAUD.

Mona Vie juice products are contained in very classy looking wine-style bottles, which are sold by the case.  They look classy because they contain a glorified grape juice.

However, aspiring network marketers usually become distributors for Mona Vie, and because the product looks and sounds so good, and they can grow into quite a high-profit stream of residual income. The company was founded in January of 2005, they are located in over half a dozen countries around the world, and they continue to experience rapid growth because the product looks and sells so well.

Products

If Mona Vie does harvest Acai berries from the jungles of Brazil, and then if they really do combine them with as many as 18 different health promoting berries and fruits, then it is probably in small amounts. Other berries and fruits contained are cupuaçu, camu camu, aronia, acerola, blueberry, bilberry, and pomegranate, to create their proprietary blends of juice products. There are several versions of Mona Vie juice. Proprietary blends are not regulated and therefore can contain fillers. Mona Vie is a glorified grape juice and doesn't work that well, so I am positive it is full of fillers.

• MonaVie Active: with added plant-derived glucosamine, to promote healthy joint function.
• MonaVie Pulse: with added plant sterols, for lowering cholesterol and improving the cardiovascular system.
• MonaVie EMV: a lightly carbonated version of their proprietary fruit blend, for increased performance, endurance, and    concentration. This is a healthy energy drink—without the usual subsequent crash.
• MonaVie Kosher: a fusion of the Brazilian Açai berry and 18 other beneficial fruits, designed to incorporate a Balance-Variety-Moderation approach to nutrition.
• MonaVie (M)mūn: a blend of 19 fruits and Wellmune®—to promote proper immune function.

Cost to join

To become a distributor of Monavie products, there is a $39 license charge, with a $20 annual renewal fee. However, in order to receive profits you must also be on autoship, which means automatically being billed for monthly shipments of Monavie products. For the first level of the commission structure, there is a monthly cost of $130, which will bring you a case of Monavie juice each month. However, to maximize your profits from the compensation plan, you will need to order twice that amount monthly. So in order to take full advantage of the compensation plan there will be a $320 initial investment, plus $260 a month for products. But you can probably still earn commissions with just a $130 monthly personal autoship.

Compensation Plan

Monavie pays its representatives through both commissions and bonuses. The commissions are derived from a Binary compensation plan. This means that your team of representatives will fall into two separate legs, left and right. The leg where you have the highest sales volume is usually considered your Power Leg. The leg with the weaker sales volume is referred to as the Pay Leg. This is the leg from which you earn profits. Your commission in Monavie will be 10% of the total profits from your lesser-volume leg.
To begin earning profits you will first need to be Active, and secondly you will need to be Qualified.
Active = purchasing 1 case of products on autoship (but 2 cases will maximizes your profits).

Qualified = having 2 personally recruited team members, one in each leg of the Binary structure, who are also Qualified and Active

You will then receive 10% commissions on the sales volume of your lesser leg in the Binary Structure.

As you move up in sales volume in Monavie, your position title will change, and the type of profits that you qualify for will increase. This is referred to as your Rank Qualification.

Pros

1) Monavie capitalizes one of the largest emerging trends in the world. More and more people have been purchasing health and wellness products in recent years. This is a growing billion-dollar industry.

2) Monavie has passed the 5-year mark, which is a longevity milestone for most companies. They have proven their strength as a company (although I predict their reign will come to an end).

3) People who are drawn to Health and Wellness products tend to be very passionate about them. This passion and enthusiasm helps create momentum, which then translates into higher profits. However, the product isn't that great, but if you have belief, then go for it, I guess.

4) The stylish wine bottles that Monavie juices are delivered in can add a nice air of sophistication when entertaining guests at home for events in which drinks containing alcoholic would be less appropriate.

5) As with any solid network marketing company, in Monavie there is potential for unlimited personal profits and lifelong residual income.

Cons

1) The cost of autoship in Monavie is quite high. Health conscious consumers who seek nutritional supplements will frequently spend $40, $50, or even $80 a month on their health concerns. But $130, or twice that amount if you order two cases a month, is quite steep for many people.

2) Monavie really only has one product, with several variations: Juice made from the Acai berry. Many other Health and Wellness network marketing companies have more of a variety of products, such as lines of vitamins, weight loss products, herbs, amino acids, etc.

3) People who have trouble growing their team in Monavie frequently spend more money than they ever make. They will often spend themselves out of business trying to afford their autoship fees each month.

4) The company uses a traditional word-of –mouth form of network marketing, which worked fairly well in the 70s, but people often struggle with this approach in the computer age.

5) They supply no substantial Internet Marketing training.

There have been quite a few millionaires made in Monavie, but also an overwhelming amount of people who have spent more money on the products then they ever made in profits.
